Easy To Make Bird Houses
How can I get used to life in the city?

My mom is selling our house in the country and I've decided to move into my own apartment in the city for career and financial reasons. The problem is that I think I'm going to hate living in a city. I'm going to be exchanging the sounds of birds chirping in the morning and frogs and crickets at night, for the sounds of cars and sirens. I won't be able to see the stars or to take peaceful walks down by the creek. Other than the fact that its easy to find employment and that there are a lot of cute girls, is there anything good about living in a city? How can I get used to all the noise and people? What should I do when I need to have a little privacy to think? What can I do to make life in the city enjoyable?

You can still see the stars, and MANY cities have ponds at their parks which you could walk around at night. There is also a better night life its more convient for shopping and even employement as you have stated. For the first 16 yrs of my life I grew up in a small town {actually a township} and out in the country on a large ranch in Texas. At 16 I went off to college at UT in Austin and the only thing that over whelmed me for a short period of time was the traffic! I was also worried at night about robbery, muggings and so forth but then again I was a 16yr old female college student and learned groups are security. By the age of 18 it didnt phase me at all go to out at night alone though I was and still am at age 35 very aware of my surroundings. If you need privacy to think go back to your apartment city life is what you make of it. I left Austin 18 months ago and moved North {huge mistake} I now live in a state that has less people in it then the city of austin has. I came here because my husband moved his business here and I can tell you having lived in Austin almost 20 yrs and moving to a small town again I HATE IT! Its to rural here shopping either way is 100 miles for a "big" city. Its quiet though and no one locks their doors at night and they leave cars running with doors unlocked and even the keys in the cars unlocked at night. I live in the lowest crime rate state in the nation and I can tell you having grown up country, living in Austin almost 20 yrs and then moving back to a small town in rural ND..I'd head back to Austin in a heart beat if I could..

You'll get use to it, it might take some time and you'll grow to love it. When checking out apartments you can call the PD and ask about the crime in the area they can tell you if its a safe place or not.
